well, i feel i at least accomplished some good stuff today...
the word is out that i need help for the bristol faire...which is good...this lj thing is good for the networking possibilities alone...

also applied at a few places in town (beaver dam)...the walmart, but they only need part time help...and i dont really want to work there, but im not at a point to pick and choose at the moment. and i also went to a video store referred to me by carolyn, who knows the manager there. the good thing is that i ended up getting interviewed, tested, and interviewed again during the time i was there...i left on a good note i think...though it was quite possibly one of the lousiest interviewers ive ever had...the 2nd guy that is...he barely listened to what i was saying and about 85% of what we talked about had nothing to do with the job...so therefore it will probably be the job i get!...though with my track record, i dont think i want to hazard a guess...

i have the feeling boy again will postpone the fixing of the car....manwhile i have a paycheck form clearwing in limbo...i need to get it, but i dont know if i should have it mailed to boys or to the house....der....

Many of the big boxes (Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc) only hire part-timers but work them better than 30 hours a week. So, if it's hours your more concerned with, you can likely get them, unless WI has rules about part timers working only a maximum number of hours.

As far as interviews, my present job's in person interview was 6 hours long (included lunch) and included conversations about everything from work to stress relief. In fact, the first 'official' question, once we were all sat down at the conference table was something like "How do you let your stress loose?" Which the reply was mostly "beat on my friends with swords..." which led to conversations about ATP/ATACC, Western Martial Arts, Fechtbuchs (Fight books) and the life of these things in the states. I'd say most of the interview was "Who is John and what's he like to work with" rather than "Does this guy have a clue?"

This was also after a telephone interview which was mostly technical in nature.

So... I'd suggest that if you answered all the questions correctly (or even admitted "I dont know" when you didn't) and felt comfortable, don't worry. Interviews are often as much who you are as they are what you know.
