(and apparently satyrday is the tattoo contest...hawt!)
so not much to report other than i will be my usual petal pusher self. heh.
lodgings are secured.

poetman's bucket o crap, grocery store, various shopping excursions and a nyquil induced stupor to commence approximately at 10PM.
paying bills sucks.
staffing agencies suck.
breathing out of just one nostril sucks.
look at me! i'm full of suck!

Sep. 10th, 2007 03:39 pmafter getting through this weekend and hearing about the attacks against the lost boys, i'm kind of sad and disappointed.
yeah, they were loud...okay fine, they got the message and turned it down. sound does carry at krf, there are times when the joust is heard all over too. especially when there are not a lot of patrons. so what if you have to hear the same show over and over? lord knows i worked next to the mud pit for years and that show got old too. but thats the thing, the patrons are the ones that rove around.
yeah, they butcher and parody rock songs and rock out some rennie songs....so what? who's to say if its bad or good? do the patrons like it? yes? then good. the more patrons there are, the more money we can make...right??
so, how does the crew react to the lost boys? we hate rose them. lots. i'm not even sure how many or how far it went. and rumor has it one booth is trying to petition them to be kicked out? (and i hope thats not true) why? again, where there are more patrons, there is more money. what we all seem to forget is that the faire exists as a money making device. for all of us. luckily, we can have fun there too. (and the lost boys probably have no control over what stage theyre assigned to either.)
if you want a private party where you can dress up in ren garb...go to pennsic.
i feel really bummed about the kind of welcome we give to an act newly on the road trying to bring something fun to a faire.
i know the general mood has gravitated toward bitterness over the years. but i still hope that i will see all my friends there, that they know i am happy to see them, that they are the reason i come back every year. because it is my home, even if its slightly dysfunctional.
i just hope the rest of the run gets better for all of us.

Oct. 16th, 2006 10:09 amsome kind of interesting weekend was had. the penultimate one.
its a good weekend when patrons buy me roses. and then there was one guy who said i was exactly what he was looking for in a woman. i told him i could be easily wooed with trips to the bahamas. i think i broke his heart.
there was lots of strangeness (the energy in the bar room on satyrday like a wall....i stayed on the benefit side mostly)...there was lots of neat stuff (i won a fountain? really?!? oh crap...where am i gonna put it?)...and there were cute boys all over. yes, i touched bums. i'm not ashamed! i got tagged by the russians. my rabbit minions continue to supervise the actions ofmagickbart. i spread some love and got my gonorrhea back. i joined the church of sarah angley. whew!
many roses sold. that is always good. tippers were better on satyrday. but i still ended up with a decent amount of cash from the weekend.

now im all paranoid it will come late and ill be swamped. which sucks, as i am meeting newt for a movie screening tonight. feh.
i guess im kind of slacking today.
ive been sorta searching for bands that might be suitable for bsf 2006.
ive been working on the roommate thing.
ive been playing catch up with my life. there are still a few things i need to tackle, but havent gotten the time to put thought into them.
i am looking forward to hanging out withsuperrob on thursday and my friend brendan on friday.
then full throttle into king dicks.
as of right now, the weather is supposed to be gorgeous. all three days. coolest at high 70's on monday.
