i am really tired of being cold all the time.
i have wind in my living room, where the only source of heat is.
everything else is heated by space heaters and/or electric blankets.
my nose is always cold.
i'd cry, but then i'd have a face full of icicles.

That sounds very cold indeed.
Hopefully you haven't started emptying out your pocket change to warn the people below.

Sounds like our place. The downstairs neighbor is in charge of our heat, so she rarely turns it on. I've gotten used to seeing my breath in my living room . . . my strategy is to wear four or five layers on top, three layers on the bottom, and at least two pairs of socks. Gloves when I can. Sitting in a comfy chair with my sleeping bag covering me helps a lot: I call it my fort and quietly bathe in the glow of my laptop screen for hours at a time.

Assuming you haven't tried this yet - the plastic sheeting that you then make taut with a hair dryer works wonders at keeping the wind from seeping in through the windows. It takes a little while but WOW its worth it. Place on the outermost edges of the window frame, to make as deep of a "pocket" of air between the plastic and the window itself - that trapped air is the buffer that keeps the cold from coming in.

You can get it at walmart or target, etc.

We just got an electric blanket, which we and the cats LOVE. Cuts down on the heating costs - dont have to heat the whole house at night. Then we have two space heaters to sit in front of at our desks. But no matter how high I actually do put the thermostat at for the regular heat (I usually put it on for 1 hour when I come home to take the chill off the rooms, and then set it back down) my hands are always FREEZING.

Good luck staying warm, I can empathsize!
