anyone happen to have a real live version of microsoft office with serial number and everything they'd like to let a cute wiseass redhead use for her laptop?

i apparently need one as my trial edition that came with is nigh on expiring.

also, it appears when my old data was recovered, my writing and pictures didnt make it on the discs...so if anyone maybe wants to help and try to get that info out of the old laptop for me, i'll make you cookies. eventually.

eternally grateful.

EDIT: you rule, all of you.
but....i got tha hook up.

By 'real live'... do you mean 'possess the discs legally'?

I use www.openoffice.org - it is free and it is legal. Their word processor program is very much like MS Word and is compatible with it as well.

Sorry, nothing to add on the front of MS Office, but I echo poetman's statement.

But your icon - I recently was cleaning up the basement and found my original "This is your brain with a side order of bacon" poster from back in my high school days.

heh... still not sure if I kept it or tossed it.

Sadly, my Fonzi poster was not in the collection. Drat.

I can work to get you stuff off the laptop.
I've got a few tools for that.
And I agree with poetman open office is great. And free.

Reg code of all 1s used to work. I have office XP somewhere. But I switched long ago to OpenOffice for my personal needs. If WORK needs you to have MS Office, let them buy it.

If you want to get a copy cheap (and legal), then get the "Student/Teacher" addition which really... anyone can buy but it lacks a few applications.

If you want to try open office i can show you how to use it. It's really only a little different from office.

For future note... I pay annually for MSDN Premium licensing. There isn't much "office" oriented product from Microsoft I don't have.

I'm not proud.

I'm just out $2500 a year.
