hmm. where to now, mes amis?
i am still trying to learn the answer to that question.

i've begun funnelling my wants and needs into a place where i can understand them. i'm learning what makes me happy and what doesnt.

i think that some kind of travel in a job is important to me. i dont like to be stagnant. is it any wonder that the job i've held the longest was for a company that plunked me into a different state every 6 weeks? that otherwise i have a one year itch anywhere else i've ever worked.
i think this is important for me to see.

the reality of this is finding something i can deal with. while i would love to race back into the renfaire world, i need to find something that can subsidize that. i've become far too adult (sad to say!) to turn back from having health insurance and 401k. i have a laptop and a cell phone. any suggestions? keep in mind that while i am pretty good with computers, i'm no clever trousers with them.

otherwise, i'm still trying to get a touring show. doing either wardrobe or assistant stage management. slow going there. but i still keep looking.

mostly i am gathering my priorities together and seeing what kind of hand i have.

this is challenging, and i thank all of you for being part of my journey.

I don't know if it helps, but email me contact info for you as well as your CV and I'll pass it on to my cousin. She's a producer (TV and indy mostly) but she might have contacts. It's worth a shot?

my lj username at gmail dot come works best.

If you look into merchandising and/or set up crews in retail they travel quite a bit. The go round and set up new displays or remodels on stores across the states. I have worked for jobs like that and it can be very exciting. You travel to new cities several times a year and can also maintain a home in one local base that you just go back to maybe 1 week a month to live and have time off. Some jobs obviously they put you up longer for in the cities and you might not get home that month.

Anyhow, sometimes you see them in construction retail postings. But I would search in retail sections of job sites for keywords merchandisers, set up, and construction if your so inclined.

Hope you find something you'll love!!!!

Your journey...

Is fascinating and inspirational, to watch. I find enough similarities between yours, and mine, to continue to really want to know what you are going to do next, and to freely pillage ideas and inspirations from you! I'm rooting for you all the way, sweetpea! As always...if you need someone in the same boat, but out of the loop, as it were, to vent, brainstorm, or just giggle at the irony with...you know where to find me.

love you utterly,
Lolly
