...i just went to see that jesus movie...

wow

...i dont really consider myself to be all catholic and religious but here are my observations:

1. all the way through the movie i kept singing jesus christ superstar in my head.

2. having to spend an entire movie covered in blood and gore and torn flesh would suck, so i automatically give jim c. the oscar.

3.fucking incredible movie, amazing cinematography, great use of dialog, it felt very real.

4. mary the mom was amazing...i dont know where they found her, but she was right on.

5. if that was what his crucifixion actually was, then id be swayed to believe it all...for a man to have taken that much on because of the rest of humanity...thats commitment...and impressive...it was also the goriest jesus movie i have ever seen...you wont believe what he was put through...all the details of it...yecch!

6. i have a jesus fetish.

     6a. thats okay, im already going to hell...wanna see my hand basket?

7. the androgynous satan was great...those were some of my favorite scenes...i kept thinking the actor looked like james spader...turns out it was a female actor...neat. (loved the maggot bit)

8. kinda disappointed that the nails went through the hands and not the wrists...for all the accuracy, i thought the wrists would be the better choice.

9. they used these great contacts for jesus's eyes which totally gave an otherworldly feel to him, nice touch.

10. such a pretty herod.

so thats it...i thought it was a pretty intense powerful movie and the subtitles didnt bother me...but then again, i think aramaic is pretty cool....

id recommend it.
