Sep. 26th, 2006 12:23 pmi know i havent had much good to say about work lately, but the benefits kick butt. my department does have its issues, and things are crazy here, but if anyone is interested, we are looking for a New Media Manager:
OVERVIEW:
The New Media Manager is responsible for all consumer-facing online content and is the point person for all consumer communication. The New Media Manager will lead the development and management of all online properties for Rounder Records Group (RRG).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage, maintain and track the content syndication of RRG sites, label-controlled artist sites, and content syndication via other partners such as MySpace, fan sites, social networking, and general entertainment portals;
Increase and generate awareness for RRG, and our artist sites on the internet by creating and implementing web marketing campaigns, creating visibility and promotions with online retail and digital services, increasing the visibility for RRG and our artist sites on all search engines, and partner with IT department on search engine optimization and natural search results;
Oversee web content including, but not limited to, artist pages, new release details, tour itineraries, blogs, contests, press releases, breaking news updates, photos, audio & video, awards and digital assets including e-cards, online media players and banners;
Identify and develop links with appropriate web sites to market Rounder artists, seek new opportunities for exposure and maintain existing relationships with .com partners;
Track and maintain all online assets (banners, links, images, and media) and distribution of assets to all appropriate internal and external parties;
Partner with IT on the development, management, and deployment of policy standards for all consumer-facing content utilities;
Coordinate with IT, Product Managers & Graphic Design team on transferring the artist aesthetic from album packaging and marketing plan to all online facets. Guide group on creation, development & deployment of Internet & mobile-specific content and goods such as screensavers, IM icons, desktop wallpaper, calendars, digital postcards, digital media players, and viral distribution tools;
Ensure market competitiveness in all areas of technology, offerings, and pricing;
Partner with Product Managers for special marketing campaigns and manage the implementation of online marketing programs including third party and cross promotions;
Work with Internet Marketing Coordinator on all audio/video content and digital assets. Coordinate with Product Managers on integrating audio/video content and digital assets in to all elements of marketing campaigns;
Coordinate with IT department for web applications and other related internal systems (messaging, web development, tracking, web programming and testing);
Provide comprehensive reporting including consumer feedback, aggregation, and analysis of all efforts pertaining to internet marketing;
Monitor site performance, usage and content of bulletin boards, chat groups, artist sites, social networking destinations, fan sites, e-lists and label-controlled e-mail lists, databases and consumer inquiries;
Target fan and lifestyle communities through banner proliferation and placing content on their sites;
Create and implement viral marketing campaigns to complement both online and offline marketing programs utilizing community forums, message boards, and reviews;
Manage Rounder Internet street team to maximize visibility (e.g. chat rooms, create blogs, drive rankings). Utilize artists’ fans to enhance visibility;
Manage all consumer-based e-mail lists and outsourced messaging services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years related experience in the areas of online content management, web management or online marketing;
College degree or related educational background strongly preferred;
Strong communication skills (written, verbal & electronic);
Well-developed interpersonal and business communication skills;
Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite, Internet browsers, IE, Netscape, Safari, FireFox, etc.;
MAC and Windows platforms experience required;
Basic PHP, ASP, HTML and programming skills desired, but not required (design skills not required);
Knowledge & experience in online consumer marketing communication and retention;
Music, media and entertainment background is an asset but not a requirement.
