heard today that one of my rabbits died.

bun, the pretty harlequin one, just up and went the other day.

i am sad.

strife says phoenix seems depressed. cant say i know much about bunny psychology though. and he says he tanned bun's hide for me. okay, probably weird, but her fur was beautiful and with my leather skills i can probably make something neat with it. what i didnt need to know was that her meat is in the freezer. im trying to rationalize that he took care of them for 6 months and is entitled to it....but to me, ick.

course thats what i get for having a totem animal be a prey animal.

...meh...

*giant hugs* I'm so sorry to hear that. Personally, I don't think he has the right to have your pet as food in the freezer, but that's just me. Not like I know the situation. Though I do think having something made with the fur is a fitting tribute, so it's not that weird at all. After all, harlequins do have gorgeous fur.

Bonded bunnies often do get depressed when one dies. I hope Phoenix and you will both be ok.

well i figure he spent 6 months feeding them, maybe its only fair?

like i said, i probably didnt need to know. he could have just said he took care of the body.

im kinda hoping ill get to have phoenix back. maybe a bunny on the road isnt a good thing, but at least i could try it.

*hugs* poor bun.
With our cats since Sootica died last week the other two have apparently got extremely affectionate and love needing.

I don't think he's entitled to eat your pet at all... thats really quite sick! Maybe you can bury it?

though my cat got left at the vet - and i know he'll have been shoved in a freezer, and then burnt - the vets say "cremated", which isn't any better.

*HUGS*

You know, it's scary when a woman starts a conversation with "the rabbit died". *faint...thud* Sorry to hear about your loss. I think my friend Jimmy Two-Feathers has the right idea. He chose Spam as his totem animal, thereby guaranteeing he'll never eat his totem.

His totem may go uneaten, but folks will spend lots of time deleting it from their inboxes.

I'm sorry to hear about your rabbit *hug*. I'm not sure how I feel about the eating of the pet though...I understand your rational and the ick.

On the one hand, I'm sad that one of your bunnies has died. On the other hand, the way you described the situation is straight out of 'Retarded Animal Babies'. Aaargh! Not fair! You made me think bad things and my Karma is now even more stuffed than was previously the case.
