she is there
breathing like an infant
unsure of her own toes
here, is an ache like a post-sneezing nose
there, is a burnt field, hot with blackness
she exhales deeply of demons
ejecting out of her heart, her appendix
cleaning cobwebs, cleaning carpets
residue hangs like drapes
the dead garden yard hidden beyond
she will deal with it as it comes
there she is
blinking against the deep blue crawling inside her
vapor trails and airplanes too
crawling downward into her belly
with a two-year-old pout
feet up on the desk
spiteful noise
taking notes
the taste of metal in her mouth
disposing of her own blood
some places she cannot go
an eternity of left turns
a mime for a co-pilot
her mind as always keeping the burden of direction
is she there
beyond the flowering dirt and bones
fingernails left behind growing loudly in the quiet
a thousand words left to say
a throat brought down by minutia, by a multitude
her eyes cant let go
she is restless and weary
full of residencies, chipped plates, crumbs on the floor
bound now into herself
eloping with the earth
scattering the seeds of dandelions
