fingers blending into clouds laden with
unshed dreams, active static, and gathered molecules
she traces her name into the sky
shivers in the cold purity
licks the wind

stalled between worlds
waiting again
breathing
open

she remembers patience
keeps close watch on the flickering
of the stars
sees in helium and hydrogen
lets go of her tasks and debts of the earth.

a mote to many, a fortress to some
