stage crew goddess hath returned
Mar. 17th, 2004 01:30 pm...i knew she was in there somewhere...
..yup, clearwing hired me!...it wont start right away, and will be sporadic for a bit, and doesnt pay great, but it could lead to something kick ass in the future...at the moment i am merely humble labor...packing the cases and loading the trucks...but how cool is it to walk into a company where the president remembers you shakes your hand and is glad youve finally "shown up"?...very cool i say..especially since i havent seen him for about 3 years...and saw one of the other crew guys id worked with from years ago and he remembered me too...also one of my friends from college stage crew days is working there as well...maybe working here is where i should be...
...there is sooooo much to relearn though...its been a while since ive done this kind of thing...all the names of cables and mics and sound systems and lighting systems to learn again...ill have my work cut out for me...ive been wanting to develop my techie side for quite some time and its seems as if learning from the guys wont be a problem...
...in the meantime, i just have to survive until the work rolls in...*sigh*...so while my situation is better, survival is still the name of the game...but this means that for now, i am staying in wisconsin...which is at least a relief knowing something and not being wishy-washy...
...i still feel kinda sick though...and i would love a nap...but there is much to do before we leave for new york....
