wicked whimsy
Feb. 6th, 2006 12:00 pmeesh my eyes are tired today.
these last two weeks of work are going to be agony. the major programs have slowed down and i am so far ahead of the game that there isnt much to do. mostly i've been screwing around online. but at least whoever takes over my job will have an easy time. they still havent hired anyone. i'm trying to get my buddy brendan to apply...he needs a career change.
otherwise i am looking forward to my trip to ubercon this weekend. i get to see some friends i dont get to see all that often. and have a good time while helping out. i think i'm playing "personal assistant" this weekend, but that may not be entirely accurate. either way, i think it'll be fun.
it's always good to get away.
my man spent the superbowl in the company of my dad. that weirds me out a little. my dad has never seeked to hang with any of my boyfriends (ug, that dirty little word) before. i think my parents have me married already. eek!
in the good news department, dad's house looks like it will be sold by the end of the month. stepcthulu moved out over the weekend..or started to at any rate. have i mentioned how blissful it has been to not see her for all these months?
i am looking forward to my FLARF visit at the end of the month. i'm debating spending money on a rental car....but shit thats expensive. i might have to see if someone can pick me up/drop me off at the airport. then maybe rent the car a day less on either part of the week.
then i come home and start the new job. i need to learn how to enjoy my commute time a little better though. i dread it. but i know i can handle it. i just need to tell myself everyday that its worth it. and maybe when the company moves to burlington i can find a closer place to live.
i guess theres still a lot of decisions floating in my head after all. but i am very happy that most of the ones i had have been resolved.
back to my grind, what little of it there is....
