ah yes, back to mundania.
traffic on the way home from CT was crummy in the expected places. with the mass pike being the worst. but i made it home with enough time to eat some dinner, ditch the chipped nail polish, watch my socks unpack themselves, catch up on email and set my alarm.

first day on the job went pretty well. nice to know i have benefits and a regular paycheck again. i even managed to stay awake the whole day, thanks to my diet rockstar. there is another rock chick in the office and it seems that her and i know some mutual folks from wormtown. today there obviously wasnt much to do workwise, but i got some training and it should come together pretty smoothly.

i had a giftcard for a restaurant so i treated myself to a steak dinner with enough food leftover for tomorrows lunch. my little celebration. (i have one more rock star for tomorrow too!)

i had such a successful time working the fest this weekend that i am considering hiring myself out as a stage manager for other events. based on feedback that i received most folks thought i worked hard and did a good job. maybe i can get my resume out there and see what happens.

otherwise i am trying to get the skank out of my weekend clothes. and some of the nice clothes too so i can look presentable at work...while i am at the front desk, its not necessarily a "receptionist" position.

i can tell my brain isnt really connected right now as i seem to be babbling...i think between meeting so many people over the weekend and meeting all the new coworkers my brain is in shock.

must go throw the clothes into the dryer....then sleep like the dead...

I think evil_1_2 was fighting some overload on Saturday and Sunday as well. I cheated - I think there were only half a dozen truly new people I spent any time with. I just feel bad now because I decided against plunking down beside you in addambombb's room when you were chillin' and chattin' with folks from the bed - and if I had I would have met you about 8 hours earlier. Of course evil_1_2's comment was that he recognized/felt comfortable with you Friday but we never had a chance to approach you because we were drifting and you were working.

I had a good time hanging out with you Sunday. It's too damn bad you live so far away. Of course I've got a spare bedroom here if you ever come this way, and I probably should visit my folks in Sutton at some point in October when you are less busy.

You were fine company. I was mostly hanging out with Yone though, and to talk to you would have involved climbing through Competitor #1, so you know... not much point as I cannot begrudge a guy for positioning himself strategically with an attractive lady.

We're down in NoVA - Metro DC area. And let's be honest, I'm sure any of us can always use a weekend away. But I understand you're loaded with work for the next couple of months - so like I said, I'll check your schedule in October and see what mkaes sense.

yeah, it does feel weird. but having that steady paycheck will help for a while...and while its not the best job in the world, i kinda like it. it will do for now!
hopefully this will be more of a springboard for my future than the death of it.

i am happily employed (for the moment) for an event marketing company...their jane-of-all-trades go-to girl. only a week in, so still seeing if i like it, which for the most part i do. i like being busy again...and im certainly not clock watching.

sorry to have read you wont be in marblehead...not that i get up there that much anymore, but visiting would have been fun...maybe our paths will cross again sometime soon...i miss you guys!
