my
blacksun_fest wrap up
Aug. 7th, 2005 09:19 pmwow!....what a fecking great weekend! nothing is better than working your ass off and seeing some damn cool results.
first off, it was my extreme pleasure to work with so many amazing bands this weekend. i've worked crew for all kinds of genres, and its hit or miss on attitude...but everyone on my stage was gracious, understanding, and very fecking cool. i have never worked with so many wonderful performers at one time. it was truly a pleasure.*gush gush gush*
secondly, my supreme thanks to my whip-smart crew. i put out a call 2 days before the weekend and ended up with four amazing, dependable, roll with the punches guys. a big thank you to
threnodyeris,
redseth,
interrogation, and mike (who is sans an lj). these guys not only took care of stage needs, they also filled in as merchandisers, hospitality crew, cooks, security and anything else i could throw at them. thank you!
the hours were long and my feet are hurting, but it was worth it. so many people did so much to make this weekend come together, and im sorry i didnt get to stay for the whole thing. (i start a new job tomorrow and sleep seemed like a good idea!) i think that next year will be even better.

Date: 2005-08-09 02:00 am (UTC)Yeah, from everything I've seen you've got a vote of confidence from all the people you worked with. Personally I think that if -- IF, as I know this has been a tough show for Jonathan and I respect that -- this festival runs again next year, I'd like to play a bigger part in helping out. This year was all about ironing out the bugs; maybe a second run will be even better.
Shit. I dunno if I can survive something that's more fun than this was though... ;-]
Is it time to sleep yet?
