tiamatlady, i got taken out to a concert...yay!
i got to see 30 seconds to mars again. this time as an opener and not a headliner...obviously as an opener not as much material gets showcased, but still a good show. the band seemed to be pulling a heavier edge this time around, as if they amped up their sound to appeal to the taproot/chevelle fans. and i dont know what it is about boston clubs, but it always seems to be turned up too loud. as per usual, jared leto plays to the crowd and bends them to his will. vocals were on. not sure what the haress getup was for. and as much as i loved seeing them again, the atlanta show was way better.
next on was taproot. the first half of the show the soundguy must have been sleeping...there was so much vocal fuzz and feedback that finally died down several songs in. and ill give it to this band for energy. got to see the lead singer dive from the balcony into the crowd...sweet!...otherwise, not entirely impressed. they did their few radio hits and i did enjoy hearing "poem" done live. personally, id rather buy the album though.
didnt get to see chevelle. which i probably wouldve liked better, but like tia, i think i was just burnt out. not due to the show, just everything...and its not really tia's scene so i was cool with splitting.
besides, we went to this cute little restaurant in chinatown where much yumminess was had.
one more day of freedom before i am chained to a stage for the weekend, and my desk job on monday. whats a girl to do?...as i am still drowning my sorrows, i intend on getting a vat of whole foods peanut butter to last me the weekend. i wish i had thought of making myself a holster or something....heh....
hey, if anyone in CT wants to be a stage crew monkey for me this weekend, let me know...it wont be that demanding and there are some good bands...
