movies and motors
Feb. 1st, 2004 10:04 pmi saw the butterfly effect on satyrday night...what a great movie...kinda like 12 monkeys in the way it makes you feel...interesting for chaos theory followers for sure...and fairly interesting in the details too...id go see it again to see what i missed the first time around...(im not a huge ashton kutcher fan, but i think he did pretty good...not so good in just married)
...other than that i felt quite spoiled by boy for the weekend...and the sex!...yipes...wow...and other dirty feelings...we rented movies on friday and i saw grind which is soooo good and funny...a cute skater punk movie...and saw the order, which was not quite what i thought but interesting anyway...i think i missed something in the plot though...could be from all the rum and coke!...think ill have to see it again sometime...but the thoery of being a sin-eater is definitely neat...i love religious conspiracy shit...
...went and looked at the v.w. jetta (i guess its not a passat)...not too shabby on the outside, but i didnt get to test drive it...the guy wasnt home...but with any luck boy will get to check it out this week and we shall see...otherwise, ill probably get to check out the mercury tracer next week...
the '92 jetta good/bad:
+ in state (no fee for out of state title)
+ reliable opinion that engine is mechanically sound
- guy wants to sell for $900
+ he wants it gone and may settle for my paltry sum
not sure yet of mileage
the '89 tracer good/bad:
- lots o lots o miles
+ selling cheap, about $400
- out of state (about $100 to change title)
- needs a smidge of exhaust work (for additional fee)
+ otherwise it seems okay, has new battery and has been checked by mechanic
hmmm..in general im inclined towards the v.w. as they seem to be more reliable vehicles in their old age...if anyone knows any different, id be happy to get the advice...
i am very much looking forward to a car...it would be nice to use the gym membership im paying for...and be able to make interviews when im available and not when sunshine is...we shall see...
didnt get receptionist job...no phone call from the company...today was the deciding day...bummer...i really didnt want to be a slave to retail agian...but tomorrow is the interview with best buy...a paycheck is a paycheck i suppose...and ill still keep looking regardless...
